Good Afternoon,
As an essential service, the Gordonvale Family Medical Centre will continue to operate during the 3 day lockdown.

Our goals will be to continue to provide essential services, including preventative and chronic care, (not just emergency medicine) minimising the number of people in the waitroom and clinic through the use of telehealth where practical. No existing appointments will be cancelled. All people will be wearing masks and follow infection control procedures.

Vaccination clinics (>60 years) will also continue.

We have a high proportion of at-risk people in our community (Indigenous, elderly and chronic disease) and the lowest vaccination rates in the country. Please use this opportunity to get vaccinated at your GP or the Qld Health vaccination clinic (1800 020 080) or online.

Testing regardless of perceived risk is essential during this time and available at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology Gordonvale and through the Cairns Hospital and Health Service (drive through and CBH The Esplanade), book online.

Thank you for all your cooperation and check for ways to manage COVID fatigue on the Queensland Health, Black Dog and other websites, which includes exercise and making time to create new fun things to do at home, and avoiding alcohol, smoking and drugs.

Please share this information with the community.
Kind regards
Dr Lisa
