Gordonvale Family Medical Centre is excited to welcome Dr Rebecca Elliott and Dr Eliza Colley to our growing team.
Dr Elliott is a North Queensland born, fellowed GP, who comes to us with extensive experience in emergency care, procedures, skin cancer surgery and general medicine. She has a young family and enjoys hiking, snow and water skiing.
Dr Colley originates from South Australia and recently the Sunshine Coast. She is a first year GP registrar with James Cook University Generalist Medical Training. A registrar is a doctor who has completed their primary medical degree and basic hospital training, and is undertaking their fellowship studies in the specialty of general practice. Training to be a GP takes at least 12 years. A registrar works independently with support and training from the other doctors. Dr Colley is looking forward to exploring all North Queensland has to offer and enjoys walking and swimming.
Gordonvale Family Medical Centre is proud to be a training practice as it ensures the highest, most up-to-date standards of medical care and gives us the opportunity to attract future doctors. Giving training doctors a good experience is the best way to get more GPs to Gordonvale.
Unlike hospital doctors, regional general practice does not receive funding that attracts doctors, so we need to offer them a lifestyle worth staying for, a supportive team and a good working environment. Please make them feel welcome.
Please see the website for updates on our services, including COVID19 vaccination and the arrival of influenza vaccinations.
